DAY 1: MARRAKECH - IMI OUGHLAD - TINZERT

Atlas mountains Treks are organized by Toubkal Experience. Our three-day Atlas journey begins with a transport from your hotel to Imlil at Imi Oughlad (1,450m), where you will meet your Berber muleteer and guide. The first day will consist of a more leisurely acclimatization hike in Ouirgane National Park. The environment is more soft at this location, with copper green soil and juniper trees. Tinzert Gite is where you will spend the night. The walk takes around four hours.

DAY 2: TINZERT - AZZADEN VALLEY (AIT AISSA)

After breakfast, you'll ascend from the Valley to the beautiful Azzaden Valley. The panoramas begin with a rushing mountain stream backed by dense walnut woodlands that winds its way up to Toubkal and her sister peaks at the Valley's top. Spend the night at a village Gite in Ait Aissa. Time required for walking: 5-6 hours.

DAY 3: AIT AISSA - TIZI N MZIK - IMLIL

The excursion today begins with a breathtaking rise out of the Azzadene Valley. You'll ascend the valley to Tizi Oussem and then descend down the Tizi n Mzik pass to Imlil (2489m). Following lunch in Imlil, you will be taken back to Marrakech, where you will have plenty of time in the evening to explore the city. Approximate walking time: 4-5 hours. We appreciate your interest in joining us on a guided Atlas Mountains hike with an established travel company. At the conclusion of the walk, we will transport you to your accommodation in Imlil, Marrakech, or to the airport, thus concluding our three-day Berber towns tour.

BERBER VILLAGES TREK WITH TOUBKAL EXPERIENCE GUIDES:

The tour will take us through three valleys and several Berber communities, with a halt in Matat village for mint tea with a local family. On a three-day trip from Marrakech, discover the Berber settlements in the High Atlas Mountains.

Your walking tour will take you and your party through the Toubkal region's breathtaking valleys. Pack your belongings aboard mules and enjoy an unobstructed stroll from Imlil across a succession of high passes that provide an up-close look at life in remote Berber towns.

Sip tea with a local family and learn about the interesting traditional culture of the region; unwind in a hot hammam and stay in one of the base camps that have housed generations of mountain tourists. Meet the Berber people and gain a better understanding of their way of life. The path is suitable for families with children as well as older individuals, and the road itself is pleasant to ride mules or stroll.
